Biography
Coach Brian Lariviere has been helping cyclists to realize their potential since 2005. Over these years, he has worked with athletes from ages 10 to 80, from the cycling enthusiast to the professional level racer. He's helped his athletes to complete their first group tours and get ready for their first century. His competitive athletes have brought home ECCC titles for both men and women in the elite division, UCI Cyclocross Podiums, New Jersey State Championships and podium finishes, Hudson to Highlands Regional Mountain Bike Series Championships and podium finishes, Mid-Atlantic Super Series Endurance Champions, Leadville Buckles, Cyclocross Championships, Time Trial trophies, Gran Fondo Champions, and scores of other victories and top finishes in various events. But even more important than the athletes finishing on the podium in their competitions is their satisfaction knowing that they have trained properly and are leading an overall healthier and happier life. Coach Brian is a working athlete himself. He began his career as a high school teacher in 1994, about a year after his first bike race as an inexperienced beginner. Despite the inexperience, he was hooked and his desire to improve and learn how to train, ride, and race was established. He now races at the professional level on the mountain bike circuit, Category 1 (Elite) for Cyclocross, and Category 3 for road. He has over 30 victories in various disciplines of mountain bike, endurance mountain bike, cyclocross, road, and time trial. He was the champion of the Hampshire 100 Mountain Bike Race, finished in the top three for the New Jersey State Mountain Bike Championship five times and was the State Champion in 2011, 2003, and 1996, the 2009 H2H Overall Pro Champion, 3rd place in the 2010 MASS Open Men Endurance Overall and 2010 H2H Regional Series Overall, finished in the top 10 at the Wilderness 101 3 times, multiple time podium finisher in the New Jersey Cross Cup, NJ State Time Trial Champion, 4 time Champion of the SJLEOC, and many other top finishes including 24 hour victories, road race wins, and hill climb victories. He understands the need to balance a structured training plan with a healthy lifestyle and a commitment to your job or education, family, and life’s other obligations. He is ready to develop a plan to fit you and your schedule and help you reach you cycling and fitness goals. |
