Nick F., a triathlete and long time participant of our trainer classes found this very interesting device to measure power for runners:
http://www.rpm2.com From Nick: "It’s apparently just a footbed that you put in your running shoes. They claim that it can be used for cycling as well but I am very skeptical and happy with my Powertap hub anyways. The actual sensor this RPM2 footbed uses is for compression only (we use the same sensors in some of the testing equipment I design at work) so it would not capture completely a 360 degrees crank effort and would be somewhat inaccurate. Nevertheless, looks like an interesting tool for runners…" Thanks for the find, Nick!
